SDP launches election symbol “Candle”


People should keep candle in mind while voting to get better representative: Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher

Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) has formally launched its election symbol "Candle" - which symbolizes Illumination. The symbol was launched at SDP Election Office, Nanak Nagar, here in the presence of SDP parliamentary candidate of Jammu-Poonch constituency Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher and party president Dr Darakshan Andrabi.
While launching the symbol Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher said, "There is an immediate need of political change in the state. The state as well as country needs new light of happiness and prosperity. The 'Candle' symbolises that the time has come to spread radiance in the country." SDP has vowed to work for the uplift of poor and downtrodden.
The party's symbol was unveiled in a simple yet impressive function, which was attended by a large gathering.
“SDP has got the approval of the Election Commission to use Candle as its poll symbol," a Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher.
According to Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher, Candle was chosen as the symbol as it not only illuminates, but also is a source of inspiration.
"Candle is a sign of inspiration as it teaches us that to get succeed one has to struggle a lot. It also signifies endurance," it said.
Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher also made a fervent appeal to all the people of the state to choose right candidate, who will work for the upliftment of the society as a whole. He urged voters to cast their vote in favour of SDP this time and feel the change in the state politics. He exhorted upon all to keep Candle in mind while voting, “as candle will illuminate their lives and will bring them out of years of despair, which they are plunged in due to successive governments,” Sardar Gursagar Singh Isher said.

In the forthcoming elections, he said, "Everyone must think whether the vote is for the people who fought for the rights of the poor and downtrodden or those who hoodwinked them over the years."
